After a successful College Football fixture on Saturday, it’s now time to focus our attention to the local brand of American Football. The Gridiron NSW competition has been played in the greater Sydney region since the 1980’s.

For the 2016 season eleven teams will be competing for Waratah Bowl glory with the first round of fixtures starting on September 3rd. The teams as follows, Sydney University Lions, Western Sydney Pirates, Central Coast Sharks, UTS Gators, Newcastle Cobras, Nepean Ducks, Northern Sydney Rebels, Wollongong Mustangs, North Western Predators and Sutherland Seahawks.

After a two-year hiatus the Sutherland Seahawks have rejoined the Division 1 competition for 2016 after focusing on their successful juniors program. The Northern Sydney Rebels will be entering their 2nd season in the competition as a club and Sydney Uni will be defending their 13th straight championship.

Throughout the season the GNSW competition will be played at three locations each week over eight venues that span the clubs within the league. Each week the fixtures and results will also be posted to our Facebook page.
