Week 6 Pick’ems

San Francisco 49ers 14, Buffalo Bills 35
The Bills boast the third best rushing attack in the NFL with LeSean McCoy and dual threat Quarterback Tyrod Taylor taking on a struggling 49ers front seven that was decimated last week against Arizona. After firing Greg Roman and promoting running backs coach Anthony Lynn the Bllls are riding high on a three game winning streak mixing in packages that cater to McCoy and Taylor’s strengths. This game also introduces the new element of controversial star (or former star) Colin Kaepernick who will be against a Bills defense that hasn’t allowed a passing touchdown in three games. The Bills must prepare for the read option..Lucky they have Tyrod Taylor to practise against.
Fantasy Alert* LeSean McCoy to be the top running back of the week
Philadelphia Eagles 20 Washington Redskins 21
With Wentz committing his first turnover and suffering a close loss we will see whether the Eagles are for real. The Skins have proven to be tougher to what we have given them credit for. Defensively, Washington has been tougher than their first two games of the season forcing Eli Manning into some mistakes in a tight division game last week, lets see if they can confuse the young Wentz.
Tennessee Titans 24, Cleveland Browns 20
Here are two teams that are devoid of talent but playing hard with the key to this game being which defense can stop the run better than the other. Demarco Murray appears to be a man possessed and Isaiah Crowell will look to continue his strong campaign after being stopped by a solid Patriots front.
New York Giants 21, Baltimore Ravens 24
Both teams so far have been underwhelming offensively because they are not attacking down the field as much as they should be. Marc Trestman was recently let go from Baltimore’s brass due to a lack of commitment to the run. It will be interesting to see how this new look Raven’s offense fairs against a Giants defense that is susceptible to big run plays.
Carolina Panthers 27, New Orlean Saints 24
This game has a chance to be one of the most exciting offensive displays of the week. The Saints passing offense gives the team an identity while the Panthers arestill searching for theirs. The Panthers cannot surely be 1-5 after six games…Right?
Fantasy Alert* The return of Jonathan Stewart
Jacksonville Jaguars 27, Chicago Bears 14
All aboard the Hoy train! It was fun while it lasted but the train will slow down this week as we all are reminded why Brian Hoyer has been a journeyman for the majority of his career…and a dam good one at that.
Fantasy Alert* Blake Bortles gets back on track with Allen Robinson
St Louis Rams 16, Detroit Lions 20
Although the Lions will be without Matt Stafford’s security blanket in Theo Reddick the Rams are handicapped with starting cornerback Trumain Johnson being out with an ankle. This has potential to be Todd Gurely’s coming out party against a Detroit who is allowing opposing running backs to average nearly five yards a carry. Last time these two faced each other Aaron Donald had a career game, let’s hope for Stafford’s sake the game plan has two bodies on ninety-nine at all times
Pittsburgh Steelers 33, Miami Dolphins 20
This game has blowout written all over it, the Dolphins have been stuck in reverse for weeks and the mismatch between the Steelers receivers and the Dolphins secondary is scary for Miami. Antonio Brown won’t have his usual quiet day of 100 yards and 8 catches….by all accounts he’ll probably double it.
Fantasy alert* Any offensive player on the Steelers
New England Patriots 31, Cincinnati Bengals 17
To the demise of the rest of the league the Patriots are back and Tom Brady appeared to have no rust whatsoever. The Bengals offense is struggling this season without Hue Jackson, a banged up Jeremy Hill and two major receivers last year leaving there is a noticeable difference.
Oakland Raiders 23, Kansas City Chiefs 20
This game is always a tough battle with a whole lot of history attached, The Raiders are coming up big in close games so will their luck run out? The Chiefs are a dangerous team and have given Carr fits in recent memory so it’ll be close.
Fantasy alert* Jamal Charles may be full go against a woeful Oakland defense
Seattle Seahawks 20, Atlanta Falcons 28
The Falcons are for real this year and after starting 5-0 last season and falling over they will prove to be a team that is for real this season. This will be the best matchup of the week featuring the athletic Seahawks defense squaring off against Atlanta’s high flying passing game.
Green Bay Packers 31, Dallas Cowboys 23
The Cowboys are coming into town boasting a feared running game with dominant offensive line play and the NFL’s current star in Ezekiel Elliot. They will be tested though with the Packers who are the league’s best in stopping the run.
Fantasy Alert* Jordy Nelson will be the difference in this one
Houston Texans 31, Indianapolis Colts 28
The Texans have been so disappointing on offense so far that if there was a time to get this train on the tracks its against the Colts. Look for DeAndre Hopkins to feel a little more freedom now with Will Fuller gaining respect due to his speed.
Arizona Cardinals 28, New York Jets 17
After watching the Steelers pull away last week against the Jets due to the sheer abundance of receiving talent. The weapons Carson Palmer has at his disposal is similar to Pittsburgh, so much so that the Jets secondary will have trouble all year stopping the pass.
Fantasy Alert* John Brown sighting over the top!
